Apple has released iOS 17.1.1 for iPhone, along with iPadOS 17.1.1 for iPad. The point release updates offer bug fixes and security enhancements, and are therefore recommended for all users to install on their devices.
Specifically, iOS 17.1.1 fixes an issue where the Lock Screen Weather widget may not display snow correctly, and an issue where Apple Pay and NFC features are not working with wireless charging in certain cars and the iPhone 15 series. The full release notes are included further below.
Separately, Apple has released macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 with unspecific bug fixes and security enhancements, along with an update for watchOS 10.1.1 that resolves an issue where Apple Watch battery life was draining quickly.
Be sure to backup your device to iCloud and/or a computer before beginning any system software update. Once you’re backed up, you can download iOS 17.1.1 for iPhone and iPadOS 17.1.1 for iPad by doing the following:
